The 2010 Earthquake: 15 Years Later

Dear friends,

January 12th, 2025, marks the 15th anniversary of Haiti’s 2010 earthquake. This disaster remains one of the most devastating natural disasters the world has ever seen. It left wounds that time cannot erase. And it took from us hundreds of thousands of friends, neighbors, and family members we will forever mourn.

On this solemn anniversary, we also feel the immense weight of hardship Haiti has endured for the past seven years. The humanitarian crisis continues to disrupt every aspect of life across the country, leaving no one and nothing untouched.

We know we are not alone in feeling that sometimes, it is all too much to bear.

But in the darkest times, we remember how our communities have lifted us up. We find renewed determination to keep going. And though it is beyond our power to solve the current crisis, we know our work is alleviating suffering and making a tremendous difference in the lives of the people we serve. Wherever there is need, we will be there to help.

As we mourn those we lost in 2010, we also hold close our unwavering faith in a better future for Haiti. A future where every individual has the opportunity to be well, to live with dignity, and to thrive.

Thank you for standing with Haiti and for lifting us up. Your solidarity means more than we can say.
