HEI/SBH Chosen to Initiate New System in Haiti

In the photo above, an employee inputs data into the new electronic medical record system in Fond des Blancs, Haiti. SBH was chosen as a pilot site to initiate the new system.

Rachel Bedenbaugh, Monitoring and Evaluation Officer, says she hopes that the new system will allow for an increased level of care provided to patients while increasing efficiency and reducing the amount of paper used.

Capabilities of the new system allow employees in archives and registration to enter data into registration forms, new patient pediatric consult forms, returning pediatric forms, new patient adult consent forms, returning adult forms and OB-GYN visit forms. The system also includes the ability for the lab to input data into the system so physicians are able to view the history online.
