Health Equity International 2026 Celebration: 
The Spirit of Konbit

On Thursday, October 15, more than 150 members of the Health Equity International/St. Boniface Hospital community gathered for our 2026 Celebration. 

In Haiti, a konbit is a traditional form of cooperative labor that has come to more broadly embody a national spirit of community support, collective problem-solving, and solidarity. Throughout the event, we explored how this spirit lives in every aspect of our work at St. Boniface Hospital. From seamless teamwork in our surgical center to deep relationships built in our community health program, we go further by going together.

It was also a tremendous honor to recognize Jeff Lynch’s longstanding impact on our organization. Jeff has been a steadfast member of our Board of Directors for 21 years. As our Board Treasurer, Jeff has played a critical role in keeping Health Equity International and St. Boniface Hospital sound over many years of growth and transformation, and has kept us stable during the many crises we have navigated. His thoughtful leadership has had a profound impact on our work, and we are grateful for his tireless dedication to the people we serve.

Finally, we are pleased to report that we received many generous contributions to our Celebration, including during the Fund-a-Need portion of the program.
