An Important Message Regarding the Treatment of Haitian Migrants

HEI/SBH is horrified by the continued deportation and inhumane treatment of Haitian migrants. We stand in solidarity with the men, women, and children who have made the unimaginably difficult journey from Haiti in search of peace and a better life. Nothing justifies the brutality they are enduring at the Texas border. Nothing.

The HEI/SBH team is on the front lines of the earthquake and humanitarian response in Haiti. It is unimaginable that the Biden Administration would continue deportations while fully aware of the life-threatening situation so many in Haiti face right now. We call on the Biden Administration to immediately halt all deportation flights to Haiti. The Administration must ensure all migrants and asylum seekers at the U.S. border are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve. Only by recognizing our shared humanity can we work together to build a kinder, healthier, more humane world.
