Rehabilitation and Community Reintegration Center Officially Open

A resident of HEI/SBH’s Rehabilitation and Community Reintegration Program prepares to cut the ribbon of the new center on the Fond des Blancs campus. The inauguration took place on April 23rd, and more than 15 other NGOs showed up to support the program, as did official representatives from USAID, CBM, SEIPH and MSPP, and a multitude of guests.

In addition to family units and dormitory-style rooms, the center boasts a basketball court, community center, rehabilitation gym, wheelchair repair workshop, vocational training room, patient resource library, private counseling space, wheelchair-height garden boxes and an accessible cooking facility. All furniture was made by regional carpenters, and local art adorns the walls.
