The William H. Lincoln School in Brookline, Mass., donated more than $10,000 to the St. Boniface Haiti Foundation on June 18.

Students for Haiti Donates to St. Boniface

Students for Haiti President Victoria Winslow recently stopped by the St. Boniface office to present the organization with a $10,000 check to be put toward funding students in the Fond des Blancs region. Students for Haiti has continued to model their growth after St. Boniface’s, and we look forward to our continued partnership. Thank you, Students for Haiti!

St. Boniface Day in Fond des Blancs

​The St. Boniface Hospital and Fond des Blancs celebrated more than two decades of partnership this week with a series of community events centered around the day of the patron St. Boniface on June 5. The hospital, which opened in 1992, celebrates its anniversary each year on the date of the patron saint.

St. Boniface reaches roughly 65,000 patients a year through its hospital, satellite clinic in Villa and mobile clinics. Guest correspondent David Einhorn traveled with a mobile clinic on one of their most recent outreach visits.

St. Boniface Advances CPR Initiative

Having all doctors and nurses at a hospital certified in Basic Life Support (CPR) is a standard initiative in the U.S., and in most countries around the world—but not Haiti. Nevertheless, Haitian staff and directors at St. Boniface requested everyone be certified and now, 67 doctors and nurses at the hospital, as well as all physical therapists, have passed the course.

A New Rehab Center Aims to Redefine Spinal Cord Injury in Haiti

This January shovels hit the ground in Fond-des-Blancs for the construction of a long-awaited Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Rehabilitation and Vocational Training Center. Employing 10 locally-hired skilled workers and 30 local construction workers, the facility is scheduled to open its doors in May.
