COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Response

Health Equity International and St. Boniface Hospital are working to combat coronavirus and minimize its spread in southern Haiti.

COVID-19 (coronavirus) is a global pandemic. Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses; COVID-19 is a respiratory disease caused by a novel (new) strain of coronavirus. The virus is easily spread from person-to-person.

St. Boniface Hospital is working together with the Haitian Ministry of Health and healthcare facilities across the South Department to treat the disease and mitigating its spread in southern Haiti. It is critical that we share the burden of care to prevent any one healthcare facility from becoming overwhelmed. Our staff is currently working around the clock to ensure that we can manage the disease while still providing high-quality care to the hundreds of patients who come to our doors each day.

Please check back to this page regularly for updates on our response.
